The ministry in Amiens

What great joy it is for us to know why and whom we specifically celebrate during this time of the year. What peace it is for us to know that God sent forth his Son to redeem us and to welcome us into his family.

As we look back at this year we are once more in awe of God’s grace and love for our family. We thank Him for the part He has given us in His work here in Amiens, France and for the people He has led us to serve.

In September, we resumed the youth ministries at church. We were happy to see everyone come back with enthusiasm for this new season of Bible Discovery and Teens Clubs. The younger ones have resumed their study in the Old Testament with the life of Joshua while the teens have been studying a bit of theology. The Ladies and Men’s meetings have respectively brought believers together this Fall. It is encouraging to see a growing interest in these special moments around God’s Word. Please continue to pray for us to serve everyone according to their spiritual needs with wisdom, love, patience and compassion.

Growth

We rejoice for the new families that have been coming faithfully to our services and various church activities. Please pray for C*******e, J******e & A*****n, her daughter and son-in-law, believers in search of a “traditional” church. Pray for S******o & V*****e, believers from Ivory Coast who live in the street parallel to our meeting place. This month, we were happy to see L**i and his children come back to church, and Ghislaine, a lady who has begun attending our Sunday services.

We were, however, quite sad to see M****e, and her children discontinue their attendance at our church services. Her second appeal to seek asylum here in France was also denied, and after we tried to counsel her and encourage her to try to find other legal options, she severed all ties with the church, refused calls, left our WhatsApp group, and stopped coming. Please continue to pray with us for her and the children as they are in a precarious situation.

Special Prayer Requests

In our previous letter we had asked you to pray for S*******n whose father attempted suicide and was hospitalized. I received news last week that his father succumbed to his wounds. Please intercede for S*******n and his unsaved family as they deal with this awful tragedy. We also ask you to pray for E***y, one of our church members. She started teaching Junior High this year and it has been quite a traumatic experience for her as she had to deal with an aggressive student and an indifferent school board. She has however seen the Lord at work in helping her deal with these pressures.

Please pray for our son Abel who broke his clavicle two weeks ago while riding his scooter. He is already doing much better and should resume school after Christmas break.

Blessings

We are thankful for the good turnout we had for our Christmas program on December 7 during which the Gospel message was once more clearly presented. Please continue to pray for the salvation of those we have already mentioned to you in our previous letters.

We are happy to have my parents, Bernard and Bernice Dodeler, back in France for a few weeks. This last Sunday I preached at the church in Mantes. It was a blessing to have them accompany me and to see their joy and that of the brethren to be together again. We praise God for this church’s faithfulness and growth though they are without a pastor. In November, the business adjacent to their building burned down. This criminal fire caused some minor damages to the church building, but for safety reasons, they were prevented from meeting there for a few weeks and met with a sister church in Vernon. We thank God that they were able to meet in their building again.

We thank you for your love, your kindness, and your help manifested through your precious prayers.

May you have a wonderful Christmas celebration and many blessings be poured upon you and your family for the upcoming year.

In Christ,

Jeremie, Damaris, Adam, Abel, & Anthony
