October-December 2024

“But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart” (Luke 2:19).

Dear praying friends and family,

As another blessed year comes to an end, we ponder God’s work in and through our lives and anticipate the blessings awaiting us in 2025. We are thankful to our Heavenly Father for his work in the Bible Baptist Church of Amiens and to see believers making spiritual progress.

In October, we resumed our youth ministries, with Damaris and Susan Abbett ministering to the children and Carey Abbett and me taking care of the preteens. We are always touched by the willingness of parents to have their children listen to the teachings of God’s Word.

That same month, a men’s brunch gathered half a dozen men around God’s Word. It was quite a success, so much so that we were immediately asked when the next one would be organized. It was quite encouraging to see such enthusiasm; it was thus decided to make this a regular activity starting this January.

Two weeks later, the ladies were treated to a delightful tea party at the Church of Vernon. The event was co-organized by Damaris, Susan Abbett, and Emily, Pastor Doucette’s wife, ensuring a memorable time for everyone. Several ladies from Amiens, Mantes, and Vernon came and were greatly encouraged by Susan’s Bible study and the various testimonies that were shared.

We are thankful for the souls the Lord brought us to minister to. Among them is F******c, for whom you have already been praying. He recently shared how thankful he was for God’s peace in his life and for our church. S*******n appears to be more comfortable, participating more in the discussions and even praying occasionally. Both these men continue to come rather faithfully to our Bible studies on Tuesday evenings.

We are happy to see N***a’s husband, J**n-M**c, come to church on a more regular basis. Please continue to pray for his salvation.

Would you also please pray for M****e, a refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo? She has been coming to church on Sundays with her four children since November. She and her children arrived in France this summer and have been in Amiens since October.

On December 8, we held our Christmas Special service, for which a total of 31 people were present, including several unsaved. We did things a little differently this year by projecting a pre-recorded short video where children and adults held the roles of eyewitnesses of the life of Jesus. Susan Abbett did an excellent job putting it all together, adding backgrounds and sounds. Brother Abbett preached a very good sermon on the very first Christmas song. F******e, an unsaved neighbor of the M****i family, attended and was very touched by the service. Please pray for her salvation and that of H****e and M***e.

We continue to regularly give out Bibles to people who request them through our outreach website. This week, we received this touching message from a lady to whom we had just sent one: “Thank you for your message, I confirm the good reception of the Bible today. It is an inestimable gift that fills me with joy.”
We thank you for your love, your kindness and your help manifested through your precious prayers.

In Christ,
Jeremie, Damaris, Adam, Abel, & Anthony
