July-September 2024
Dear praying friends and family,
We rejoice about what the Lord has done this summer in the lives of many. Our church organized a special evangelistic effort on July 4th as the Olympic Flame came through Amiens. The last leg of the flame’s course was at the end of the church’s street, which was made pedestrian for the day. We were thus able to give out special gospel tracts just in front of our building, which was opened to the public for refreshments and supplies. We thank God for several opportunities to clearly present the Gospel to passers-by. Following this, D***d, a young believer who has been attending for a few months, decided to write a gospel tract. Brother Abbett helped him get some printed.
Several believers labeling some Gospel tracts. These were given out a week later, on July 4th, when the Olympic Flame came through Amiens.
The following week, our family drove 400 miles down to Larodde for the July session of Camp Rainbow. We arrived two days early to help set up for the arrival of campers. During our first night, we were awakened by a powerful hailstorm, which caused a lot of destruction in the region. Hail as big as golf balls fell. Several houses in the village had their roof tiles broken, and several vehicles sustained heavy damage. We thank God for His protection as the camp building only had a broken window. However, our minivan, as well as the vehicles of staffers and visitors, were riddled with bumps and broken windshields. We were able to have ours replaced rather quickly; however, the rest of the damage will be taken care of next week.
Though Camp began on a bad note, we praise our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for two weeks of blessings with 33 juniors and 17 teens. This year, I taught the teens on the subject of “Fighting and Winning Life’s Battles,” while Damaris taught a group of juniors the spiritual lessons from the lives of Saul, David, and Solomon. We thank God for his work in these young lives as eight campers trusted the Lord—among them was our son Anthony—while two others received assurance of their salvation. Please continue to pray for continuous spiritual fruits to be produced in their lives.
We were also happy to see the M****i family from our church go to the August family camp in Larodde. They had a wonderful time there, especially because they were surprised to see some old Christian friends they hadn’t seen in many years. Though summertime usually makes attendance rather scarce, we thank God for the faithfulness of the believers and for several visitors. We were happy to see N***a’s unsaved husband, J**n-M**c, come twice. One Sunday morning, he asked for a Bible, which we gladly offered him. Please continue to pray for his salvation and for more opportunities for us to talk with him about the Lord.
At the end of August, we finally had our Bible Discovery Club’s annual cookout after it was postponed twice in June because of inclement weather. There was a good turnout, and though conversations remained quite ordinary, towards the end of the evening, some parents started asking spiritual questions. Please keep on praying for E**c and M***e, T****s and H****e, and for us to have more opportunities to present the Gospel clearly.
During the summer, F******c, a middle-aged man, began attending our mid-week Bible studies. He’s a believer who left the charismatic church and needs spiritual counseling. Please pray for him to find peace and joy and for me to have wisdom in our conversations.
By God’s grace, our family is doing well. Anthony is now in 2nd grade and following in the footsteps of Abel as he has begun learning the trumpet. Abel is in 6th grade and adjusting well to his new school and its format. Adam is in 12th grade. He has a very busy schedule with long hours at school. Please pray for the Lord to strengthen him and guide him in his decisions concerning his college education.
We thank you for your love, your kindness and your help manifested through your precious prayers.
In His service and in yours,
Jeremie, Damaris, Adam, Abel, & Anthony
